excerpt: NATIONAL GUARD AFTER ACTION REPORT
-Paragraph eleven-
At 0430 Captain Peck called for evac via CH-47 Chinooks. Unfortunetly air controllers could not offer the birds to him. His position, a parking garage turned rescue and recovery station, had already been attacked by several infected. All attacks were repulsed successfully. UAV recon available showed a large number of infected moving toward Cpt Peck's pos. According to eyewitness accounts the infected swarmed the garage, with the defense lasting no longer than 10 minutes. At 0530 a ground convoy managed to reach Peck's location. Of the 27 Guardsmen and roughly 70+ refugees only 3 gaurdmen and 8 civilians were found in the area. Footage of the events stated was also recovered from the camera of one of the deceased.

Interesting. Interesting, but you don't know the full story; you know just a bit, but not enough to understand what really happened out there. I can provide you all with some details, if you're interested. For starters, contrdictory to what the sergeant said, those things were zombies. The virus that created them is based off of rabies (big surprise), and has become known in scientific circles as bacilla necrotis, or as I prefer to call it, Dying Cannibal Syndrome (I got the name from a friend, who compared the activity of the ghouls to a cannibal dying of starvation attempting to save his life by eating others, somehow creating more cannibals). The strange thing about this disease is how it operates. Technically, this virus does not reanimate dead tissue: rather, it renders the victim unconscious, then rapidly infects the entire body, shaping the brain into something... Else. Only then does it kill the target. It changes the tissue whilst the victim cannot do anything, then kills it. I'm actually a member of the CIA, though you probably might not hear from me again- I've got a job to hold down, you know, and two posts just might be what makes the discovery possible. However, this I can tell you: this virus has the potential to destroy the human race. The very nature of this plague- how it can be transferred through a bite, the ingestion of infected blood, from a gore-spattered traffic sign brushing against an open wound- means that millions could be infected within the space of a week or so. During the clean-up operations I've led, I've almost always gone face-to-face with the undead, and I can asure you that our military's elite biochemical units are suffering greatly to stop this. However, without public awareness and survival knowledge, we cannot survive. This is why I salute your sight and its noble aims. God save America.

I don't know what all this talk is about Ft. Lauderdale being under control is, cause Plantation just got bit. There was a Zack on my own street, like, an hour ago... Ft. Lauderdale is sounding like a nice retreat, if all this talk is true.
